This Privacy Policy explains how Tuned Search ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Tuned Search browser extension and the website at www.tunedsearch.com. Tuned Search is a Firefox add-on that lets you build precise web searches from a toolbar popup. By using the extension or the website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Settings and search entries (stored locally). Tuned Search saves your filter settings and the entries you type into its cards on your own device using your browser's local extension storage. This data stays on your computer so the popup is ready the next time you open it. It is not transmitted to us. If you prefer the extension not to remember what you typed, the "clear on close" setting in the extension's options turns that off, and your entries are cleared each time the popup closes.
Technical and attribution data. The extension creates identifiers for an installation and session and may send the extension name, version and ID, browser name and version, install date, country code, consent state, current default search engine, whether a Tuned Search result has been opened, and campaign or referral values when they are present. This data helps us attribute installs, operate the extension, and understand product use. The extension shows a choice for optional data collection. A first-install event may be sent while that choice has not yet been completed.
Search queries. When you press Search, the query you assembled is sent to the product's search endpoint to return results, in the same way any search you run is sent to a search provider. We do not build a personal profile from your searches.
What we do not collect. We do not collect your name, postal address, payment information, or other directly identifying personal information. Tuned Search has no user accounts.
Legal basis under the GDPR. Depending on the data and timing, we process information to provide the service you request, based on your consent where the extension asks for it, and based on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, measuring, and improving the product. You can decline optional collection in the extension. Locally stored settings are processed to provide the features you choose.
The Tuned Search website uses a cookie to remember your cookie-banner choice and loads a product analytics script. The extension uses Firefox extension storage for card order, hidden cards, field values, and preferences. It also uses cookies and browser permissions to support product attribution, search-engine state, install handling, and the features described in this policy. We do not use these permissions to build an advertising profile from your general browsing. You can clear website cookies through your browser settings and decline the website cookie banner.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. This includes the meaning of "sale" under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We have not sold personal information in the past and do not intend to.
Settings and entries stored locally remain on your device until you clear them, enable "clear on close", or uninstall the extension. Technical and attribution data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above. To request deletion of data that can be matched to your installation, contact support@tunedsearch.com.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is necessary. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Tuned Search is distributed through Mozilla's Firefox Add-ons (AMO) platform, which has its own privacy practices. Searches you run are sent to the product's search endpoint to return results. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites you reach through your search results. Where applicable, please review the privacy policies of those services, including Mozilla.
Tuned Search is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Your continued use of the extension or website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
